Last Sunday, I bought the Record on an absolute whim for the first time probably since 2001 and was thrilled and surprised to spot your name as I flicked through. Thank you for this beautiful piece, and particularly for calling out how painful it is that James Hird, that most graceful, powerful and charismatic of football greats, remains hidden away from us. It’s just not right. Hope to see your name in the Record again, fingers crossed for sometime in September.
Gee Annie, that’s truly something. Bought record for the first time in 20 years or more and found me inside it! So glad you did. Yes, we can start to dream a September dream. Tentatively. But with hope. I hope it brings James Hird back. Somehow..
It was wonderful to have you
It is feeling good to go to the footy again. The rewards will be great for the loyal fans who have kept going all these years.
You've encapsulated our bomber lives. Thank you
Thank you for writing so beautifully about the Bombers. You have articulated precisely my thoughts and feelings. Cheers. Oh - and caarn the bombers.
Watching as the Pies run on to play the Bombers. I of course thought of this wonderful piece!
Caaaarrrrrn the Bombers
Keep up the hope dear Bomber tragic. Your writing maintains my little spark of hope for us humans.
All the best.
